Any narrative that portrays mature women as vibrant and fulfilled, rather than burdened by ailments and nostalgia, is a refreshing delight that uplifts the heart.
I am a massive, massive St Mary’s audiobook fan and I’m a little lost as I picked A Bachelor Establishment up after reading Isabella’s name thinking it was somehow related. And I kept listening and waiting but to no avail. I haven’t been able to finish it in the confusion. Does it eventually relate to Saint Mary’s? If not, how does Isabella Barclay fit in? Thanks
My sense is it a little joke to say it was written by Isabella B. It’s a wonderful story if you are a romance fan. I didn’t see any connection with St Mary’s.
I listened to it on audiobook thinking because it said it was by Isabella Barclay it would have some relation to Saint Marys. That doesn’t seem to the case. Did I miss something? Or is it just a bit of fun as though Isabella from Saint Marys wrote books mark. I’m very confused and possibly very stupid for being confused, but I’d appreciate your input into this. Thank you.
lol, thanks. Note to Hazel: not obvious enough! Or I’m just really dumb or maybe (more probably) just really hopeful. I kept waiting for it to break into an origin story or something for Isabella before she joined Saint Mary’s. I thought that was what it was and it was a great idea. I know the period was wrong but Saint Mary’s is (not) time travel so…you know…still possible…maybe….
I’m not the brightest button in the box I guess. 😂
A Bachelor Establishment is one of my favourites.
Thank you! Mine too.

This is my favourite. I find all the characters so relatable. I go back to it time and time again.

This post should help solve the confusion https://joditaylor.substack.com/publish/post/142666170

I love Bachelor Establishment! Love that it was written by “Isabella Barclay.”
