I'd love to have Hazel's companion to the first book, but I have a Kobo, not a Kindle, and Kobo don't seem to have it. Any chance they could have it? Alternatively, a proper book, with pages and everything! (Actually, I would prefer that as you can flick pages back and forth to check references in a "real" book.)
Hello, one of the reasons is that Amazon only let authors add books to certain promotions if they are exclusive to Amazon. The new Reading Companion will be out in May and this covers all the books and short stories. I will ensure that this is distributed to Kobo too.
This is an issue that has come up for various authors who only have books on Kindle and don't offer ePub (i.e.: Kobo and others) options. I'm curious about what's behind the scenes in publishing and why this is the case; I assume for independent authors it might simply be that Amazon/Kindle makes it easier to self-publish. (I've asked this same question to Caimh McDonnell for his Dublin "Trilogy" which is only on Kindle, where the Stranger Times series is on both.)
For the record, if you have Calibre software (free) you can convert formats as long as the book isn't locked with a license. https://calibre-ebook.com/
I am so sorry I didn't reply for a whole week! I am back to Substack today for the Friday update and saw your response - I must not have notifications activated!
Hi - it wasn't because the domain name expired but because I retired from running it. Karin Mallion (who organises the Jodiworld conventions) is creating a new merchandise site which will go live soon. I still help Jodi in running this Substack blog but was finding the merchandise site too much after 10 years of running it. I hope that answers your question.
Would love to know more about Adrian&Mickey's backstory. Especially after reading Smallhope&Pennyroyal's book.

Just what I wanted, thanks!

I do have Calibre, but how do I get the book to convert it, please? (That was a really helpful answer, thanks!)

I always forget how to do it when I need to, so this is my reference site for converting books. https://www.epubor.com/how-to-convert-ebooks-with-calibre.html
I hope this helps!
Just saw that the JT website has been taken offline due to domain name expiring and just wanted to check if that was on purpose?

Oh it does! Thank you for all your work - I used the reading order page so much!
