That was fun. And delighted to hear you come of long lived stock. More books!

Have you considered that you might be an evening person? For getting work done on paper, after your brain has spent all day getting things sorted out in the background of all those phone calls?

You must improve your diet: never mind that healthy salad nonsense, what you need is a high protein diet with plenty of saturated fat and low carbs. More lamb chops and cheese; eggs fried in butter; cream, with strawberries if you must; no biscuits (but you won’t miss them).

I like the sound of all that. And I'm not a big cake and biscuit fan. Can I have pork chops instead of lamb?

Living in a box? You are too beloved by too many people for that to ever happen.

Another St. Mary's, another Time Police, and another Smallhope and Pennyroyal? Oh, YES PLEASE! I hope you've signed that contract, Jodi!

Thank you for this glimpse into your creative mind and process, Jodi. It’s a delightful and chaotic experience. We can all identify with so much in your day, but nobody can express it like you do.

Taylor Takeaways

Oh, on the 29th of April, a day picked with finesse,

Our author spun a tale that's nothing short of a mess!

Awake at six, surprised to be alive,

Ten minutes of pondering, a philosophical dive.

.

By six-thirty, in bed with tea and laptop,

Facebook, Amazon, a digital hopscotch stop.

Reading emails, adjusting commas with glee,

Bad Moon’s final read, then starts another story spree!

.

Hazel calls at nine, workload heavy as a brick,

Descriptions, intros, a literary quick fix.

Then back to the manuscript, add the acknowledgments neat,

Oh, the peril of deletions, a full book delete!

.

By midday, ideas for stories new,

And then lunch, an apple, not just a few.

The afternoon stretches, a Netflix allure,

With TV shows and politics, entertainment pure.

.

Our author scribbles ideas, a rapid burst,

For TP6, fearing it’s perhaps cursed.

Four-thirty brings mum, a fright and a stare,

A domestic scene with a comedic flare.

.

By six, culinary adventures take hold,

Curry, cheese biscuits, stories bold.

Plot twists emerge as night takes its crown,

A butter-slathered keyboard, a writer’s renown.

.

At eight, distractions—Pompeii and more,

Dead Boy Detective Agency, scores galore.

Then off to bed, a writer's day closes,

Awake to tomorrow, where creativity poses.

.

So, from dawn to dusk, a tale spun so fine,

A life in the day of an author of mine!

Through words and worries, tea and toil,

In the life of a writer, there’s never a dull spoil!
