Yes, as the only brother, I gave my 3 older sisters hours of fun. Often, I was sat down with dolls and teddy bears with a pink ribbon in my hair while an older sister played teacher. Lucky I was a boy though because the 2 older sisters had threatened to throw me in the local canal if I had been another sister. So if you think I'm strange, you know who caused it!
Of course Maxwell must have a silver hammer, 'bang, bang' or should that be 'knock, knock'.
Teasing brothers is a moral imperative. I am very fond of my big brother, so obviously we tease each other mercilessly. Tragically his other half has early onset Alzheimer's, so struggles greatly to join in, but excellent use of her eyebrows and eyerolls convey her enjoyment of me pulling his leg. It's both a duty and a pleasure.
The other, quite valuable circumstances that brightly colored tool handles leads to is: many fewer hours lost searching for a smallish, dark handled tool, inadvertently dropped (really, they run away, but no one believes me) as they always are, under the sink during a repair.
Pseudo kryptonite poisoning fear in male siblings is also a plus...
You are utterly wicked to taunt your brother so. One of the reasons we love you so much.
I presume pink toolkits are more expensive than other colours? To appeal to the 'girlie' market?
Some years ago, Wendy found some weights in a charity shop for my little sequence of exercises I do (we Greek Athletes have to stay in shape you know). It was only after some weeks using them i realised the box was mostly pink, the woman in the picture on the box was wearing pink and the knobbly ends are pink. And it struck me that this pinkness was aimed at women!
I have one of those. I find it keeps husband from absconding with my tools as he is always laying his own down some place and forgetting where they are. He would prefer not to be seen with a pink hammer!

Not pink. Rose!

I think we tease people we are most fond of. It is our British way of saying 'I love you'
