Loved this story, even more than the other times I've read it. It was so funny and chock full of great characters. I think butlers must be a particular favourite of Jodi Taylor.

I am so enjoying this re-read of these stories. Thank you for issuing this challenge, Jodi et al, or I might not have done it, and that would have been very sad, indeed. This was such a cool little mystery! The lady of the house is a delight.

Realized yesterday that I'd purchased the collection "The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year" last July, setting myself up for the joys of Christmas-time stories. oooh, the dusty locked room and the nicely fleshed-out characters of the house servers. What a fun whodunnit! I was close to figuring out the cause of death, but not the culprit. Good one!

Dum, duh-dum, dum, doom! And we have John, Thomas (!), Eliza, Jane and perhaps the first Chance died of ag(e) in court. Should the Rev. Lillywhite be dressed in 'green oh! oh!' it was and is a very seasonal colour. Also, there is a Doctor but THE super sleuth of the decade had been killed a couple of years before. Thank goodness Markham was able to take on the deerstalker (mantle) of Sherlock. What I have to do to prove I've read the story!
