Well, here I am, back from Jodiworld and very nearly intact. I think it’s safe to say a good time was had by all – especially me – and I came home with far more chocolate than I set out with, which is always my criteria for a successful event.
To apply the Dr Bairstow criteria – no one electrocuted themselves. Nothing caught fire. The building did not fall down. Yes – successful event.
It was lovely to see so many familiar faces again and meet new ones, too. As usual I meant to take loads of photos and as usual I completely forgot. Hopefully others will have more than made up for my deficiency and post theirs appropriately.
Obviously massive thanks go to Karin and her top-notch team – singling out Tracey who was in charge of getting me to the correct place at the correct time and discreetly carrying out the usual checks – that I was appropriately dressed, sober and with a functioning pen – together the tech people and our wonderful guests, Zara Ramm and Caimh McDonnel.
Mostly, of course, massive thanks to all our lovely Disaster Magnets, who brought stunning costumes, questions, gifts, enthusiasm, and a willingness to have a really good time at any cost – and TALENT. Jodiworld was full of singers, dancers, violin players, comedians, conjurors – and not forgetting all the stellar actors, actresses and film makers. If ever I am talked into filming the Chronicles of St Mary’s these will be the people I select to do the job. They were brilliant.
So now – back to work. More edits for Out of Time, the Christmas story to finish and … a new project. Dum dum dum … but more about that another time.
I’ve written to Karin to thank her and told her to put her feet up for a few days but my guess is that she’s already started on Jodiworld 27.
Take care, everyone, and Happy Friday.
