In the video below, Jodi Taylor explains her inspiration and writing process, plus reads an extract from White Silence.
Jodi Taylor, best known for her Chronicles of St Mary’s series, takes a thrilling detour into the world of supernatural suspense with White Silence, the first book in the Elizabeth Cage series. Blending mystery, the paranormal, and Taylor’s trademark wit, White Silence is an engaging and fast-paced book that keeps the reader on edge from start to finish.
Elizabeth Cage isn’t just observant—she sees what others cannot and has spent her life trying to suppress her uncanny ability to see the thoughts, emotions, and intentions of those around her. Elizabeth’s world is turned upside down after her husband dies suddenly. In her grief, she lets her guard down—only to discover that there are powerful people who know exactly what she can do. And they want to use her skills for their own ends. As she is dragged into a shadowy world of secret organisations, hidden knowledge, and eerie phenomena, Elizabeth is forced to confront the truth about her abilities—and herself.
For those who enjoy supernatural thrillers with a strong, intelligent female lead, White Silence, book one in the Elizabeth Cage series is a must-read.

The Sack of Constantinople: 13 April 1204
The 13th of April 1204 marks one of the most infamous events in medieval history: the sack of Constantinople by the forces of the Fourth Crusade. This catastrophic event not only resulted in unparalleled destruction and looting but also signalled a profound shift in the balance of power within the Christian world.

Ok, something that's bothered me for a long time. My favourite of all books is Argumentation of Historians. Best romance I've ever read!! However, 1403. Supposed to have been in Shrewsbury but a) we don't even know if she was, b) it was a completely different life, c) she kicked herself for not asking when and where after that first jump. My frustration is She STILL didn't ask!! Just because she's having issues walking into walls where she sees corridors is no excuse for not asking, just for peace of mind! Sooooo, HAD she been in 1403 before? Was there a Master William Hendred in her previous life? Obviously she couldn't meet him because she was pulled into a new life (saying because she'd died sounds a trifle harsh).
Really, I just need to know if she'd been to 1403 or not! Please put me out of my misery!
Deb, Yorkshire born and bred.
P.s. nothing to do with trying to find the original universe and hunting down William Hendred after stealing a pod...
