So I've read Red, Green & Blue Mars - Rice Burroughs, I think Zelazny did, Baxter (with our old friend?) wrote about Long Mars, pods were not needed, just stepping out (with a potato?). So I assume Bradbury, Carpenter and Verhoeven did as Wells though the last one brought the Martians here. And my name is Lewis and I love the Pink(erton) Mars
The dynamics between Hay and Pinkerton are just hilarious.
But I thought Lewis wrote about Venus?

Hilarious dialogue between Hay and Pinkerton !! Nice for Charlie to get out for a bit.
This was a good short story. Of course, it's not to be taken very seriously. It's fun.
The characters, especially Farenden, are great. Each time I read it, it just gets better and better.
